Cuckoo Clocks

The Cuckoo Clock was thought to have been invented in the middle of the 18th Century. Although it is not thought to have originated there, the clocks, as we know them today are made in the Southwest Region of Germany called The Black Forest. It is still not clear who really built the first Cuckoo Clock but it is clear that the unusual clock with the Cuckoo Bird call quickly took over the Black Forest Of Germany and now are home to some of the top manufacturers that we carry here, such as Hubert Herr, Hekas and August Schwer. You will also find a large selection from River City, who are large distributors of cuckoo clocks from that region.

A Cuckoo Clock is typically pendulum driven and imitates the call of the common "Cuckoo Bird" on the half hour and the hour using small bellows and pipes while also striking a wire gong sounding the time. There are two different types of clocks, One Day Movement and Eight Day Movement, both of which have the option of coming with additional musical tunes and additional movements.

So sit back and browse our large selection of Cuckoo Clocks, Grandfather Clocks or Decorative Wall Clocks and remember when you are looking for a top quality or unique timepiece to start your own family heirloom, you can shop Cuckoo Clocks from the Black Forest Of Germany right here at just4clocks.com where "We have the right time for you".
